Broken appliances can still be parts inventory.

A dead washer, dryer, refrigerator, range, or dishwasher may be worth more in parts than as scrap — if you know which components move and how to list them cleanly.

Why parting out matters

Scrap is the floor. Parts can be the upside. Control boards, motors, pumps, igniters, switches, racks, handles, bins, and glass can all have value depending on model and condition.

Removal discipline

Photograph before removal, label wires/screws, keep model tags, test when possible, and store parts in bins so inventory does not become chaos.

Listing discipline

Use brand, part number, model compatibility, condition, and clear photos. Avoid guessing fitment when you do not know it.

When to skip parts

If a model is obscure, parts are cracked, shipping risk is high, or the machine takes too much space, scrap or pass may be smarter.
