Spokane’s recycling guidance says residential appliances are accepted with a regular waste charge because of special handling. It distinguishes ammonia refrigerators, which go to the Waste to Energy Facility rather than the transfer stations, and states that commercial-size refrigerators and freezers are not accepted.
