Appliance removal guide

Refrigerator disposal: repair, reuse, or removal

A refrigerator that no longer fits your needs may still be repairable. A failed unit needs a provider that can handle refrigerants.

Decide whether repair is worth checking

If the problem is a new fault, check the model’s warranty and obtain a diagnosis before replacing it. Compare the complete repair quote with replacement, delivery, installation, and removal costs. Our repair decision guide lists the questions to ask.

For a working refrigerator

Consider a reuse organization or a private recipient who accepts its age, size, and condition. Share known faults and confirm who will carry and transport it. A donation organization may decline appliances or require an accessible pickup location.

For a broken refrigerator

Ask your municipality, waste collector, retailer, or appliance recycler about a complete-unit collection. State whether it is a household or commercial appliance. Confirm acceptance and price before setting it out. Do not dismantle the sealed cooling system to make the unit easier to scrap.

Arrange storage and collection safely

Keep a stored refrigerator secured away from children and follow the accepting provider’s preparation instructions. Plan the route from the room to the truck, including stairs and tight doors. The collector must agree on the work before arriving.

Request pickup availability

Submitting an APN request is free. An independent partner may contact you if they can accept the appliance and location. Availability, timing, access requirements, and any charges must be agreed directly. A submitted request does not book an appointment.
