Dishwasher pickup and dishwasher uninstallation are different jobs. A built-in unit may still be attached to water, drain, power, and cabinetry when a collector arrives.

What to include in your request
- Built-in, portable, countertop, or drawer-style dishwasher.
- Whether it is disconnected and removed from the cabinet, and whether it contains water.
- Any leaks, damaged connections, access restrictions, or stairs.
Confirm uninstallation before booking collection
Ask your installer or another qualified professional to handle plumbing, hardwired connections, and removal from cabinetry when needed. Do not assume a pickup partner performs this work. Tell the partner whether the unit is already freestanding and ready to carry.
If you are replacing the dishwasher, ask the installer whether haul-away is included in the installation quote. Check whether that covers only collection or also disconnection and cabinet removal. Keep those costs separate when comparing an independent pickup offer.

If no pickup partner is available
Check your municipal waste program, the retailer delivering a replacement, or a local recycler. For a working appliance, contact a local Habitat ReStore about donation acceptance and collection. Confirm the item, appointment, and fees with the provider before making a trip.
Common questions
Who removes a dishwasher from under the counter?
That needs to be agreed with an installer or qualified professional. APN requests do not include an automatic promise of uninstallation, electrical work, or plumbing.
Will a partner take a leaking dishwasher?
Describe the leak and any standing water in your request. The partner decides whether they can accept it and what preparation is needed.
Is dishwasher removal free?
Free collection may be available for an accepted, prepared appliance. Uninstallation, access, travel, and disposal requirements can change the offer. Confirm all terms before accepting.
