What to include in your request
- Gas, electric, heat-pump, or combination washer-dryer, plus the model if known.
- Whether it heats and tumbles, and any damage or other known issues.
- Whether it is stacked, built into cabinetry, connected to a vent, or reached by stairs.
A pickup appointment is not a gas service appointment
Arrange qualified help for gas connections and any hardwired electrical work. Confirm who handles vent disconnection, unstacking, and carrying. Do not assume those tasks come with free pickup. Leave the dryer where it is until safe preparation and access have been agreed.
If a dryer still works, compare reuse or donation with recycling. Tell a donation organization about its age, model, and condition before arranging transport. For a failed dryer, ask a local recycler whether it accepts that type of appliance and what fees apply.

Check your municipal waste program, the retailer delivering a replacement, or a local recycler. For a working appliance, contact a local Habitat ReStore about donation acceptance and collection. Confirm the item, appointment, and fees with the provider before making a trip.
